📄 Job Description

As a Content Moderator at SocialSphere, you will review reported posts, comments, images, and videos. You will apply community guidelines clearly and fairly. You will help remove harmful or misleading content, label sensitive posts, and support users who need guidance. Your daily work will include triage of reports, detailed reviews, and collaborating with product and policy teams to improve rules and automation.

You will also take part in training sessions, policy discussions, and quality reviews. We expect you to be patient, consistent, and able to explain decisions in a calm and clear way. Many decisions are not simple — you will balance user expression with safety and use good judgement in gray areas.

This position is hybrid: you will join colleagues at our Austin office for team days, training, and community events, and you will work remotely on other days. Reliable internet and the ability to commute to Austin for periodic meetings are required.

  • 1–3 years experience moderating online communities, social media, or customer support.
  • Strong written English and clear communication skills.
  • Ability to follow policy guidelines and make consistent decisions.
  • Comfortable handling sensitive or upsetting content with emotional resilience.
  • Good time management and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable internet and ability to attend in-person meetings in Austin when required.
  • Basic familiarity with moderation tools, dashboards, or Excel is helpful.
