StreamVerse Media is hiring a friendly and sharp Live Chat Moderator to support our streaming platform. This is a full-time remote role where you will manage live chat rooms, protect viewers from abuse, support creators, and help build a positive live experience for millions of viewers. The salary range is $50,000 – $70,000 per year. Applications close on February 10, 2026.
Live chat moderation is fast, active, and rewarding work. You will be the person who keeps conversations safe and on-topic while creators focus on making great streams. If you enjoy helping communities, acting quickly, and using clear judgement, you’ll fit well in our Safety & Moderation team. StreamVerse provides training, supportive teammates, and tools that make moderation smarter and fairer.
📄 Job Description
As a Live Chat Moderator at StreamVerse, your primary role is to monitor live chat during broadcasts. You will watch messages as they come in, remove content that breaks rules, and take actions like warnings, timeouts, or bans when necessary. You will work closely with streamers and the trust team to keep chat a welcoming place for everyone.
Live moderation is different from traditional moderation. Messages appear quickly and decisions must be fast. You will use a moderation dashboard, canned responses, and quick tools to act in seconds. You will also support creators before, during, and after streams by helping with chat settings, highlighting top contributors, and reporting repeated issues to the escalation team.
The position is remote, and you will join a distributed team across time zones. We value clear thinking, fast typing, calm communication, and empathy. Training on our rules, tools, and safety practices is provided.
📌 Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience moderating live chat, streams, or fast-moving communities (preferred).
- Excellent written English and clear, calm communication.
- Ability to make fast decisions under pressure while staying fair and respectful.
- Comfortable using moderation dashboards, keyboard shortcuts, and quick response templates.
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet, distraction-free workspace.
- Availability for flexible shifts, including evenings or weekends when streams peak.
- Emotional resilience — moderators sometimes see upsetting content; we provide support and guidance.
🚠️ Key Responsibilities
- Monitor multiple live chats and respond to reports in real time.
- Enforce community standards by removing spam, hate speech, harassment, and other rule violations.
- Use quick moderation tools: timeouts, message deletions, bans, and automated filters.
- Support streamers by adjusting chat settings, setting slow mode, or highlighting announcements.
- Log incidents and escalate safety or legal concerns to specialized teams.
- Participate in quality checks and training sessions to keep decisions consistent across the team.
- Help create helpful messages, guides, and FAQs for creators and viewers about chat rules.
